PILU /PILD “Practical International Leadership Development”
- Leaders need more skills
Practical, International Leadership Development (PILD)
During the last couple of decades, we have provided leadership training in different editions with various results. Since 2015 we have executed a new approach on how to train educational leaders.
The purpose of PILD is to develop leadership that provides leaders with efficacy and skills to achieve more equity and inclusiveness in their education systems. We do this to develop personal and professional competences in the leadership role.
PILD is an alternation between lectures, reflection, and practical exercises. You can participate as an individual or as a management team. We believe that the municipality gets the most benefit from participation in PILD when the municipal manager (or equivalent) and all the principals or directors in the municipality participate as a unified group.
Since 2015 we have collaborated with:

The participants get access to direct dialogue and sparring with the researchers regarding the municipality's/county municipality's, early childhood centers or schools’ challenges and initiatives. Through 5 three-day sessions, over 1 ½ year, the participants receive training in the use of learning methodology and the theoretical basis for organizational development:
When we do this training, we make sure that the theoretical inputs and instructions are short enough to explore the possibilities of actions.

“The PILU gatherings have been very rewarding. The international speakers have really delivered and have been engaged in the assignment. PILU has provided inspiration, knowledge and tools for development work at its own school"
(Ole Martin Øyen, former headmaster)
